Weekly Class News
It was wonderful to meet all of you over the past couple of days and celebrate your child’s learning so far this year!
New Books:
New books were sent home this week. For our Christmas Reader’s Workshop, students will not be practicing and presenting a book. Instead, we are working on Candy Cane or Christmas Sentences—organizing words to create sentences that make sense, then writing them with a focus on capital letters and punctuation.
We also have a special Christmas booklet filled with fun literacy activities. This will come home before the holidays and can be completed over the break. There is no need to return it to school.
Concert Costumes:
Students should wear red and a Santa hat for both the dress rehearsal (Dec. 9) and the concert (Dec. 10).
Please label your child’s Santa hat and send it in on Monday, Dec. 8.
If you do not have access to a Santa hat, please let me know—Dr. Saul has a few extras.
Toy Drive Extended:
Our Toy Drive has been extended! Please send in any toy or cash donations by Friday, Dec. 12.
Parent Helpers Needed:
We need help on Monday and Tuesday (after recess due to the dress rehearsal) for a couple of Christmas crafts. It should take no more than an hour—even less if we have two volunteers.
Please email me if you are available to help out!
Div. 13’s Christmas Celebration & Pajama Day:
Friday, Dec. 19 – Students are welcome to wear pajamas and bring a favorite stuffy.
Snacks & Goodies:
- Fruit Plate – Casey
- Veggie Plate – Kreaden
- Sweet Treat – Zayn
- Popcorn/Chips or Pretzels – Caelus
