Div. 13 Final Update for 2025!

What a Week!
This past week was a busy one, especially with the storm day on Wednesday! Unfortunately, several students were under the weather and missed some of our Christmas crafts and activities. We hope you’re all feeling better now and ready to enjoy the holiday season.

Highlights from the Week

  • The children loved the story Holly and Ivy—ask them to share their favorite part!
  • Our Club RED Celebration was a blast! Mr. Scarcella joined us as a guest reader, and we had two very special visitors from the North Pole—Santa and Mrs. Claus!
  • Div. 13 was the top primary class for Club RED members, earning a Starbucks field trip! We’ll be going with Mrs. Dailly’s class—date to be announced in the new year.
  • Div. 12 & 13 snuggled up to watch The Polar Express, sip hot chocolate, and enjoy delicious snacks. A big thank-you to Casey, Kreaden, Yabsira, and Zayn for bringing the Christmas goodies!

December 12/25

Hope you were able to enjoy Fairview’s amazing Christmas concert!

Although Division 13 had several students sick, they still performed beautifully. We were lucky to watch the dress rehearsal on Tuesday, and it was such a treat to see everyone's hard work shine.

Club RED:
We’re proud to share that 14 out of 18 students are now Club RED members—way to go, Division 13! Keep up the great reading!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
The children are loving our exploration stations and creating five special crafts. A big thank-you to Nolan’s mom for helping with these projects and to Sophia’s dad for generously supplying the wood for our snowmen!

December 5/25

Weekly Class News

It was wonderful to meet all of you over the past couple of days and celebrate your child’s learning so far this year!

New Books:
New books were sent home this week. For our Christmas Reader’s Workshop, students will not be practicing and presenting a book. Instead, we are working on Candy Cane or Christmas Sentences—organizing words to create sentences that make sense, then writing them with a focus on capital letters and punctuation.

We also have a special Christmas booklet filled with fun literacy activities. This will come home before the holidays and can be completed over the break. There is no need to return it to school.

Concert Costumes:
Students should wear red and a Santa hat for both the dress rehearsal (Dec. 9) and the concert (Dec. 10).
Please label your child’s Santa hat and send it in on Monday, Dec. 8.
If you do not have access to a Santa hat, please let me know—Dr. Saul has a few extras.

Toy Drive Extended:
Our Toy Drive has been extended! Please send in any toy or cash donations by Friday, Dec. 12.

Parent Helpers Needed:
We need help on Monday and Tuesday (after recess due to the dress rehearsal) for a couple of Christmas crafts. It should take no more than an hour—even less if we have two volunteers.
Please email me if you are available to help out!

Div. 13’s Christmas Celebration & Pajama Day:
Friday, Dec. 19 – Students are welcome to wear pajamas and bring a favorite stuffy.

Snacks & Goodies:

  • Fruit Plate – Casey
  • Veggie Plate – Kreaden
  • Sweet Treat – Zayn
  • Popcorn/Chips or Pretzels – Caelus

These are some pictures from our skating field trip!
